Flau'jae Johnson, the highly talented LSU women's basketball player, won her first gold medal as the United States team defeated Brazil with a score of 92-84. This victory took place at the FIBA Women's AmeriCup held in Santiago, Chile's Center of Collective Sports. Team USA maintained a perfect track record of 7-0. 

The quarterfinal round, held on July 4 against the Dominican Republic, featured Johnson's top performance. Flau'jae had an impressive 22 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 steals. She became the ninth USA player to record 20-plus points in an AmeriCup game. Her performance played a pivotal role in advancing the United States to the semifinal round.
